Trouble analysis and troubleshooting of gravure printing plate: knife wire or ink

In the printing process, there are often phenomena such as knives and ink, which is also a comprehensive factor.

Dust, paper dust, dust and other debris mixed into the ink are accumulated under the scraper, and it is easy to scratch the plate roller during high-speed printing to produce ink cross-cutting and knife wire phenomenon.

The squeegee has a small knife edge, so that if the ink is not cleaned, it will produce a wire.

Because the printing plate is electro-engraved on the copper plating surface of the plate roller, and later to enhance the wear resistance and corrosion resistance of the plate roller printing, a layer of chromium is plated, and the hard plating of the chromium layer is generally 800HV to 1000HV. After chrome plating, we need to go through the polishing process. If the polishing process is not good when making a plate, or the surface of the chrome layer is rough, it will also cause the wire phenomenon. Furthermore, if the depth of the plate roller is too deep, the hardness at the edges and corners of the pattern is very large, and it is easy to grind the scraper out of the knife edge and also easily produce wire.

The ink quality is unqualified, the particles are too coarse, and it is easy to form ink sticking under the scraper during printing, resulting in knife filaments and ink string.
